CronWave Assistant

A small rules-based helper that works with whatever you are looking at. It runs in your browser and is not an AI model.

The Assistant is the round button at the bottom right of every page (or Alt+A). It looks at the tool you are on, and at the expression in it, and answers from there.

What it can do

  • Explain the expression on screen in plain English, with the next runs.
  • Fix an expression that does not validate, with the reason and a corrected version.
  • Convert a schedule between Linux, Kubernetes, GitHub Actions, AWS EventBridge, Vercel and Quartz.
  • Create an expression from a description such as "every weekday at 9am", then send it to the Generator.
  • Diagnose common "my job did not run" situations with a checklist for each platform.
  • Link to the right tool and hand the expression over, so you do not retype it.

How it works

It is not an AI model. It is a set of rules and a knowledge base that run in your browser. It recognises a fixed set of requests. Whenever it gives you an expression, a sentence or a list of next runs, that comes from the same cron engine as the Generator and Parser, so the numbers match what you see in the tools. If it does not understand something it says so and offers the things it can do.

What it cannot do

  • Answer general questions, or reason about your job's code or infrastructure.
  • Know about your platform's behaviour beyond the rules written into CronWave. Check the platform's documentation before you rely on an edge case.
  • Remember you between visits. Saved expressions stay in your own browser.
